Invitation For Proposal For The Appointment Of A Research Consulting Service Provider

The Banking Association South Africa (“BASA”) invites suitably qualified and highly experienced service providers, with demonstrable expertise in disability and accessibility research, to undertake research on the experiences of persons with disabilities regarding the accessibility of financial products and services within the South African banking sector.

Requirements: BASA seeks a highly experienced and independent Research Consulting Service Provider to support its Banking Accessibility Task Team (BATT). The required services will be for a period of 18 months. During this time, the successful respondent will be required to attend BATT meetings to report and discuss progress.

Please Note:

  • Respondents wishing to submit a proposal shall be requested to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement to receive any BASA document as well as the RFP.
  • Respondents must express their interest in the RFP to BASA, in writing, by 11 September 2026 at 17h00. All communication and responses must be submitted in writing and retained for record. Respondents will be required to attend a compulsory virtual briefing session which will be held on the 18 September 2026 at 10h00. An invitation will be sent to those who have indicated an interest, closer to the date. A detailed RFP will be made available at this meeting.
  • Further requests for specific clarification regarding the RFP must be submitted to the BASA, for the attention of ThomasM@banking.org.za before 12h00 on Monday, 28 September 2026. In the interest of fairness and transparency, BASA’s responses to any queries will be shared to all respondents.
  • BASA reserves the right to withdraw at any stage of the process, amend or cancel the RFP, reject or not accept any or all proposals, obtain any information from any lawful source regarding past business history and practices of the respondent, and to take any such information into consideration in the evaluation process. Responses to this RFP will be evaluated based upon BASA’s procurement criteria
  • Valid and compliant proposals received will be evaluated and finalised by the Banking Accessibility Task Team at BASA.

Closing Date: The closing date for the submission of the proposal is 12h00 (South African Time) on the 27 October 2026 No late submission will be considered. Proposals can be submitted electronically via AlluciaM@banking.org.za
